We are always honored when a Cedarwood bride and groom come to us from a revered Nashville institution like Vanderbilt University. Valerie and Jacob met in college through mutual friends and started casually dating at the end of their senior year. After graduation, Jake moved to Denver to play music and Val moved to NYC for her dream job. Their attraction for each other soon brought Jake to NYC to be with Val and to propose a year later in Centennial Park, the Nashville spot he asked Val to be his girlfriend three years earlier.

Val and Jake are both creatives and wanted their wedding day to be a classic, southern, garden celebration full of gorgeous details (including some created by the bride), great food, and of course, music. Val used her color palette of sage, white, gold, greenery and touch of pale pink with true artestry, especially in the blending of unique bridesmaids dresses by different designers, and the richly restrained, botanical-inspired floral and decor.  Kristyn Hogan Photography masterfully captured every little detail, so we can spend the rest of 2017 gushing over Val and Jacob’s amazing Cedarwood celebration.
