Irish Farmhouse Fête :: Jessica+Tommy

We’re delighted to feature Jessica and Tommy’s November 1 wedding as a Cedarwood Style Icon.  This is one strikingly unique wedding perfectly photographed by Kristyn Hogan!  Jessica pulled our heartstrings with her deep desire to get married at Cedarwood despite our heavily booked fall schedule, so we agreed to create a remarkably personal, intimate wedding for her and Tommy.  Here’s her account.

“Cedarwood was the venue we had our hearts set on but they were booked every weekend. Because we were open to being married on Thursday,  they worked with us to create an idyllic farmhouse wedding.  Our personal style is somewhere between vintage and country, and we wanted our wedding to have the charm of a small, quaint affair, with authentic style – something that would be equally  at home on a rural Irish farm or in the Tennessee countryside.  Cedarwood is more than an venue, it’s a state of mind.  With the massive mature trees, bubbling creek, old barn and rolling meadows, the historic farm setting was perfect for our crisp November destination wedding.   An outdoor fire, warming blankets, hot cider, and wedding quilt ‘guest book’ made everyone feel cozy, welcome and warm. Our reception centered around a southern-style harvest menu and dessert buffet with our loved ones sitting a long rustic farm tables. Flowers and vegetables in shades of coral, russet, gold and green added to the brilliant fall leaves everywhere around us.  Cedarwood’s designers used earthenware pottery, crocks and lanterns that would have been natural to farm life – everything had a wonderful vintage patina and although nothing ‘matched’ it was coordinated and timed perfectly.”

Jessica’s advice to newly engaged couples?  “The setting /location of your wedding is crucial. Don’t compromise a venue that’s perfect for a specific day of the week – be flexible and you’ll have a lifetime of satisfaction with a wedding that’s totally ‘you.’   The Cedarwood team really understood our sense of style and pulled everything together so Tommy and I could concentrate on being with each other and enjoy every element of our day.”

Thank you Jessica and Tommy for trusting us to ‘take your vision and run with it’ —- we absolutely love your wedding!  Thanks Kristyn Hogan for the amazing photography, and all the fantastic Cedarwood vendor-partners listed below.  Happy New Year everyone! xoxo
