We have the best jobs in the world. When we’re not helping Cedarwood couples create the wedding of their dreams, we get to create for fun. Or in this case, for the annual Cedarwood Style Show. Our Style Show is intended to showcase some of the vast possibilities for wedding decor, and to give Cedarwood designers a chance to spread our creative wings. Wedding inspirational shoots are also a way to show Cedarwood couples that our team can create whatever they can dream up their wedding.
This display was influenced by our love of mid-century design, our passion for vintage Airstream campers, and our delight with the geometric details that are oh so popular today. We must hand it to Designs in Paper for their impressive contribution to the project, with everything from backdrops, to bunting, to cake topper, invitations and a full array of complimentary paper goods. We asked our bakery chef, Patty Cakes, to duplicate the design on a flower vase for a wedding cake. She did. Perfection! For years, Cedarwood has partnered with Kristyn Hogan to photograph some amazing real weddings and wedding inspiration, which have been published literally around the globe. These photos show her talent, and we are thrilled to share them here as well as Burnett’s Boards’ feature. If you haven’t seen it, CLICK HERE to head over, and be sure to add this top rated wedding blog to your feed. Enjoy a little mod mood with us!
Here’s a bit about our design process, and a shout out to some amazing creatives and vendors who helped us with this project:
“We have to admit that we’ve been swept away by mod style for several years, instigated by the acquisition of our first vintage Airstream. Authentic vintage furniture in Aqua and wood set the tone for this elopement, made modern with mixed metal details.
Embracing the simplicity of floral design of the 70’s, we focused on clusters of yellow roses and daisies. The play of patterns is a significant part of the event design, repeating geometric shapes in tabletop elements, paper goods and wedding cake. The reception laser-cut backdrop pattern is also used in a bunting for the airstream altar.
The bride and bridesmaid wear vintage inspired dresses with modern appeal. Our goal was to create a fun and youthful environment with styling rooted in the lifestyle of a former, free-spirited decade.”
We are thrilled that the popular wedding style blog, Burnett’s Boards, featured our work. CLICK HERE to see their feature!
