Cedarwood Weddings floral designers and event stylists are artists, and our medium is creating beautiful environments. It is a passion to do this work, and highly rewarding when stellar photographers documents settings we’ve created so beautifully.  It has been an honor to work with Julie Paisley, both when she photographs real Cedarwood weddings, and also as a host of her film workshops.  We confess, we’re just a little giddy every time we get to style something for her students to shoot on our property.  Our holiday editorial is the most recent, and we love the results.

Our process in creating this styled editorial shoot:  The holidays are a time to sparkle and shine, even on a Tennessee nature preserve. It is precisely the play of festive patterns and metallics against outdoor landscapes that encourages intimate weddings and backyard celebrations during a season defined by lovely settings. We paired glitter and glam with organic elements for a rustic chic style that is unexpected but undeniably warm and inviting, starting with glided evergreens in the ceremony altar at the venue’s Cedar Cottage. Sequined overlays on bench seating continues on reception chairs to unify spaces. Festive paper goods and table decor in black, gold and white offer modern appeal. Fresh foliage is the star of florals, especially in the loosely gathered bridal bouquet. The bride and groom are perfectly balanced between style elements with her bejeweled headpiece and his hand-crafted wood bow tie.

We must give lots of credit to our fellow creatives, Designs in Paper, who are also artists and collaborators with Cedarwood Weddings and we love their paper suite for this editorial. Patty Cakes is spot on with her cake design as well. Kudos to more wonderful friends below.
