Katie and Blake’s wedding day began with rain. Lots of rain. But this wedding is proof that rain cannot dampen the beauty of two people in love, and sometimes it brings unexpected magic. The Cedarwood event team loves the challenge of turning rainy day wedding plans into something equally or exceedingly better. We adore Katie and Blake’s first look in the rain with umbrellas. Even before the session was done, the rain stopped and photographer Susan Hudson captured some gorgeous portraits on the grounds.
Katie’s down home rustic style intertwined family heritage and friendly DIY projects. She shares, “My mom made programs and small jars of honey as favors. I will wear my grandmother’s ring as my something blue. One of my good friends hand-lettered a chalkboard with a saying my grandmother and I have always said to each other, “I love you a bushel and a peck”. Of course, now it is a sentiment I share with Blake, and the sign will become an artful reminder for our new home.”
Congratulations Katie and Blake! We are totally smitten with your wedding, and your gorgeous photos by Susan Hudson. Thanks for sharing them with our blog.
