Sarah and Nate met while working in the Department of Biostatistics at Vanderbilt University. Initial interactions about work and academic plans soon turned into study sessions at Nashville coffeehouses. During their second year of graduate school, Sarah and Nate realized they had more in common that food and biostatistics. Nate says, “We were compatible on many more levels, including faith, our love of family, our friends, and especially our mutual respect for each other.” Sarah adds, “I woke up one day and realized I can’t stop thinking about Nate! And the nice thing was that after spending 40 hours a week together for two years, we knew each other inside and out.” In October, Nate and Sarah traveled to Portland, Maine for a bit of rest, relaxation and adventure. While on a whale watching excursion, Nate proposed. He recalls, “It may have been the picturesque scenery, the cruise or the lobster pie, but Sarah said YES!”
Sarah and Nate paid tribute to their momentous proposal (and their love of whales) with small touches through their wedding, including blown glass whale cake toppers and some seriously cute signage by Designs in Paper. In a nod to their degrees, Sarah and Nate personalized their dessert station by used the Greek symbol inside of the word pie. Sarah and Nate told us they chose Cedarwood for the venue’s Southern feel and hospitality and the blend of country elegance and Nashville style. Biscuits and Bluegrass in the barn for cocktail hour, a sweet tea bar, and favors from Loveless Cafe and Bang Candy Company treated guests to a taste of Tennessee. We can’t stop smiling at Sarah and Nate (he calls her “gorgeous sauce”) and their blessed relationship. Enjoy their amazing wedding photos by Rachel Moore!
Whale of a wonderful wedding, don’t you agree? Sarah and Nate, keep your love mojo going. We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and your families. Thanks Rachel Moore, for these fantastic images!
