Where do we begin sharing the southern sensation that is Jessi and Logan? Equal measures of sweetness, southern sass and  suave style, this couple and their wedding rank among Cedarwood’s most treasured celebrations. Jessi shares their story: “Logan and I went to high school and college together with the opportunity to begin our love story early and really grow together. I’ve loved this man for a good 4,015 days and a little more each day. We can both honestly say that we’re each other’s ‘person,’ sharing life together, intertwined with our families. Our love has thrived in part because of family and faith. How rare it is to have two sets of parents both still madly in love with one another! My parents were married June 27th, 1981 and Logan’s parents were married June 29th 1979. June 28th just seemed like such a perfect day to officially begin our married life. We even surprised our parents with the songs they danced to at their weddings and a big cake to celebrate their anniversaries.”
Jessi was raised a self-proclaimed Southern Belle, and wanted a truly southern affair to celebrate her marriage to Logan. Every detail was planned with family, faith and fun in mind. Jessi shares, “My gram was southern through and through, grace and poise, with a little sass. As a girl growing up, Magnolia trees were our thing. The leaves on a magnolia tree are gorgeous and became the inspiration for styling our wedding, using them in garlands and details throughout. Making sure everyone had fun and got a little piece of the south was our goal, so naturally we included good southern food, outdoor lawn games, bow ties, and bourbon. We wanted every piece of our wedding to reflect something or someone important to us. Our faith-based ceremony featured bible verse signs along the aisle and a foot washing ‘unity’ ceremony. Marriage is a symbol of Christ’s loves of the church and foot washing reflects servanthood, selflessness, and unconditional love; important characteristics of a lasting relationship. A prayer prior to our al fresco dinner reception on the garden terrace blessed the meal, which was served family style. We loved feeling like we were at home gathered around the family table sharing laughter and conversation. Logan made monogrammed corn hole boards for lawn games, and we love to dance so great music was crucial. Some dear family and friends brought home-baked pies. Guests got to take home boxed slices with recipes for that special family touch. A family engraved bible was our ‘guest book’ inviting guests to highlight and initialed their favorite verse as future inspiration for our marriage. The magnolia leaf place cards were all hand-picked and lettered by myself and my family.”  How to end this perfect day in a personal way?  Jessi provided a confetti bar with orange and white glitter for their exit to college alma mater song, Rocky Top!  Enjoy the special details in these delightful photos by Ace Photography.
