Cedarwood’s event team eagerly awaits our first wedding each season, with renewed excitement and the privilege of helping fulfill a wedding day vision for a very special couple. This year, that special couple was Caroline and Jake, who on March 29, got married at spring’s first blush, making love all the sweeter. Caroline is one of those naturally beautiful brides who radiates happiness and has a warm heart for nurturing others. In fact, both Caroline and Jake share their talents with organizations like the Blood-Water Mission and warming shelters for the homeless, which, in our book, make them extraordinary people. We are honored that they chose Historic Cedarwood as their Nashville wedding venue and design team. Caroline embraced ‘Vintage Farm’ styling, focusing on beautiful soft pastel flowers, romantic lighting, burlap, lace, vintage farm sundries and farm tables for an enchanting, shabby chic setting. We love blending beautiful and rustic, classic and unexpected to create a unique expression for our bride and groom.
We’re excited to be able to share Caroline and Jake’s wedding photos by Love is a Big Deal one month later! It’s so satisfying to see their beautiful Outdoor Cathedral Ceremony in the Cedarwood meadow, and the amazing chemistry Caroline and Jake share (more on their love story later in the post.)
Caroline and Jake have a special connection. She shares: “Jake and I are ten years apart in age, but we say that our spirits are the same age. He’s so much fun, and I like to think I am too. I was great friends with his younger sister Allie in college, so I heard about his family for a long time. Allie always said “too bad Jake isn’t younger – ya’ll would be great together.” We met as I was finishing college and I thought Jake was great. But he was very much “Allie’s brother.” After graduation, we found ourselves in the same wedding party, experiencing a weekend of festivities together, and we really hit it off. But two weeks later, I was leaving the country for a whole year (and I admit I was freaked out about our age difference.) While in Germany, we talked a few times and a year later I moved back to the US and to Nashville. A couple of months after settling into my new Nashville home, I started coordinating a warming shelter for the homeless on cold winter nights. I needed volunteers and Jake was on my list of people to call. He ended up volunteering every time I asked. I like to think we fell in love while playing cards, serving meals and visiting with homeless friends. Our love and relationship moved fast and its clear to both of us how much we are meant to be!”
Congratulations! We are so thrilled for you both. Thanks to Love is a Big Deal for sharing images with us. What a great way to kick off the 2014 Cedarwood wedding season!
