Cassie and Zach‘s bond thrived through years of being apart. Cassie says their entire relationship (prior to being married) had been long distance. When we began wedding planning with Cassie, she lived in Memphis and Zach lived at the US Army base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The distance between them was hard, but Cassie says that by being focused on their love and future together, this time period brought them closer as a couple. Zach proposed to Cassie a few days before Christmas (Cassie says it was the best Christmas gift ever!) Happily, they set a date and booked Cedarwood for their wedding. Soon afterward, they learned that Zach was being deployed and were forced to delay their wedding date. Being apart was not new, but this time it was different. They kept their love as a priority and their spirits up by writing love letters to each other. How fitting that these very letters, which represent their promise of marriage and a future together, were displayed at their wedding as a symbol of that promise kept!
Other special tributes we love include their “wishing well” at the front lawn koi pond. Guests were invited to toss a penny into the water with a special blessing and wish for Zach and Cassie. A ring warming ceremony accompanied their vows, with petite attendants passing wedding rings for family blessings before Cassie and Zach presented them to each other. A US Flag on the barn was a tribute to Zach’s military service, and a family heirloom adorned Cassie’s bridal bouquet. More thoughtful touches included a line on their invitation response cards for guest to fill in their favorite love song or song request for Nashville Party Authority to play during the reception. True to her expressive nature, Cassie even wrote a special note, rolled and tucked into her toss bouquet, ‘to the woman who caught my bouquet’ filled with wishes and encouragement for a future love (and marriage). Every detail of this gorgeous wedding and celebration is woven with love between this special couple, family and friends. We love happy beginnings, and thrilled that Cassie and Zach are finally together for good (and expecting their first child!) Congratulations, and thanks for sharing your love with all of us at Cedarwood! Thanks also to Krista Lee Photography for sharing these lovely photos.
