Photos by Krystal Mann
We are passionate about helping a Cedarwood couple’s wedding vision come to life, and we look forward to seeing how their photographer captures the essence of their wedding day. Brittney and Michael’s soft romantic celebration with natural elements fit our historic farm like a glove, and fit Krystal Mann‘s photography style just as perfectly. Krystal and Cedarwood have enjoyed a long creative relationship together, and we were happy she flew from her new adopted home, Los Angeles, to Nashville for Brittney and Michael’s May 25 day. Brittney and her family had recently relocated as well, from Michigan to Tennessee, and all participated in choosing Cedarwood for Brittney’s sweet southern celebration, balanced with nature on a historic farm. Lace and soft floral tones of blush and ivory blended with natural colors like latte, tan, and burlap to create a perfect blend of romance and rustic. Enjoy this perfect spring day, and Brittney’s proposal story at the end of the post!
Such a lovely day! Thanks Brittney and Michael for choosing Cedarwood as your Nashville Wedding Venue. Best wishes for a blissfully wedded life in Mississippi! Kudos to Krystal Mann for the amazing photography.
How we love a great proposal story. Michael is quite the determined romantic as it turns out. Brittney shares their story: “Michael went through a lot of trouble for the proposal and I almost ruined the whole thing! I really had no idea Michael was planning on proposing (although I had hoped it was coming soon!) and he did a great job hiding the it from me. Our families met for the first time (yes in 4 years!), the weekend before he proposed. Everyone knew he was going to pop the question….well everyone except for me 🙂 We had gone to Tennessee to visit family and that is when he asked my parents permission to marry me and showed them the ring!”
“We were living in SC at the time and on May 5, 2012 I had to work and Michael and I were supposed to go to the beach after I got off to take our dog Millie for a walk. I ended up calling Michael around 4:30 telling him I was going to be an hour late and we would not be able to make it to the beach. When I got home he suggested we take a walk in the neighborhood instead. We started walking towards the back of the neighborhood where the road passes through woods and I heard something and saw the bushes moving, and Michael heard it as well! I started running with Millie back towards the house and I turned around and Michael was still standing there with his hands up in the air and said, “what are you doing? don’t you want to keep walking?!” I said, “NO! DO YOU?!” and kept running back to the house.”
“We got cleaned up and decided to go to dinner. Once we got in the car, Michael said, “lets drive to the back of the neighborhood, I think they opened that road up and it will be a nice short-cut”. Of course, I believed him…We went to the back of the neighborhood, where no one/nothing was around and pulled up to a giant heart colored in with chalk in the middle of the road. I looked at him and said what’s going on? He said, “get out of the car and go look”. I got out of the car, walked up to the giant heart and next to it, it read,” Brittney, I love you with all my heart, now turn around” When I turned around Michael was down on one knee holding the ring! It was perfect :)” We Love.
