Diane and Glenn embraced colors of the season when designing their rustic October wedding with plum and burnt orange – a color combination that proves its good looks in these magnificent wedding photos by Jen and Chris Creed. A relationship with college roots, Diane and Genn’s love story is equally colorful, full of the sweetest humor that is sure to keep this special couple forever fun.
Diane shares: “It is hard to believe nearly six years ago Glenn was in his Senior year of college running Greek Week at Western Kentucky University with my Big (sorority) Sister, Jeanne Fisher. I went everywhere Big did, thus I ran into Glenn a lot. Glenn and I were not only Greek together (he a Phi Delta Theta and I a Kappa Delta), but we were Spirit Masters and apparently in the same Spanish class (clearly I was paying attention-haha). Glenn asked me to dinner one night after a Greek Week meeting and I stated I would only go if Big was allowed to come; he then asked if he could at least drive me home, I again declined saying I rode with Big. Getting in the car with Big that night was the best and worst decision I could have made, as she proceeded to YELL at me for not taking Glenn up on his offer! I told her I was not interested in dating and to let this one go….she didn’t….and after several attempts by Glenn, I finally agreed to dinner, which I then turned down 30 minutes before our date. I know I’m vicious, but afterward I felt guilty and asked him to go to the Senior-Send-off Dance for Kappa Delta with me. He shockingly agreed and as you would say, the rest is our love story. Smile.”
Diane told us she was never the girl who had already envisioned her wedding, because she said she never thought she would get married (we told you she was a funny girl!) Diane shares, “I truly do not think we could have picked a better place than Cedarwood to get married. I am super laid back and so is Glenn and the only thing I knew we wanted was a great time with our family and friends who have supported us through everything! We chose Cedarwood because they make everything so easy. I had full faith in the Cedarwood Design Team and Kortni! I told her I wanted plum and burnt orange for colors and to make our day no-hassle and most of all, fun. They completely succeeded! It was AMAZING and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. The touches Cedarwood added were phenomenal!”
When we asked Diane to share what was special about her wedding, she says: “Everything! I know that is corny, but it is so true! From the Italian touches from my mother ( Jordan almonds) to my unbelievable bouquet that was tied with my late grandmother’s gloves, to the cigar bar put together by Cedarwood, to our OUTSTANDING band, The Downtown Band, to my family flying in from Manchester, England, to the flags of New York and Kentucky flying on the house ( to represent our two states joining), to the amazing aisle way where I saw Glenn for the very first time, to my first look with my father ( I am tearing just thinking about it)….I really could talk for days about how amazing it was! My mother cried and danced the night away, my friends had a blast, my family got to experience all that Nashville has to offer; it was perfect!”
What a joyous day! When it comes to who and how she credits for her wedding vendors, Diane once again makes us smile with her signature wit as she replies:
“Cedarwood- Amazing, all of my girlfriends either were jealous, or are hoping to get married there!
