As wedding planners and stylists, we love to create inspiration for Cedarwood brides considering their design elements. We might even say it’s our art. Our French Farm styling uses many props and elements frequently seen at Cedarwood in fresh new ways. We created a farm reception with an organic feel that represents wholesome values and the simple pleasures of life. Influenced by the French Farm aesthetic, and since Cedarwood is historic farm venue, we paired rustic weathered wood elements with vintage implements natural to farm living such as milk and canning jars, crocks and biscuit bowls. We used minimal flowers and let our herb garden provide most of the materials for the bridal bouquet, centerpieces and twine-wrapped bouquet garni table top favors.
Boots and simple cotton dresses for our bride, Kortni Wells, and her flower girls express beauty in simplicity, while the farm’s resident puppies reflect the sheer joy of celebrating in wide open spaces. Eco-friendly unbleached cotton napkins, ticking table runners and pillows add a touch of humble sophistication to the rustic eventscape which we repeated in invitations and paper goods by Designs in Paper. And just like our simple cake by Patty Cakes, our goal was to create a relaxed-elegant, un-fussy environment reminiscent of countryside celebrations that evoke a longing to kick back and stay a while.
We hope you enjoyed Cedarwood’s French Farm style inspiration as much as we enjoyed creating it. We want to give a big ‘shout out’ to our wedding director, Kortni; our adorable nieces: Zoiey, Jo, Lydia; and puppies: Jack, Teddy, Lily and Emmie.
