Brandi and Erik are an American love story at it’s best. Erik, a New Yorker, is an outdoorsman and hunting enthusiast. Brandi is a South Georgia, nature-loving, country girl and attorney. After separately moving to Nashville, Brandi and Erik met while working in the same office building and say it was definitely “love at first sight.” Erik took Brandi hunting and 4-wheeling and Brandi shared her passion for canines (and rescuing those in need.) Together, they love doing pretty much anything outdoors, and that would especially apply to getting married!
Brandi’s dream wedding was a Cedarwood outdoor cathedral ceremony in our farm meadow, and we must say that the setting fit them like a good pair of boots! There’s so much to love about this rustic, county chic Cedarwood wedding – especially the amazing chemistry between Brandi and Erik, so masterfully captured by Laurie Carpenter Photography. We love the ‘pistachio’ mint chiffon dresses and florals in soft pink, blush, and ivory saturated by nature’s many hues of green. Mixing rustic elements with romantic styling, Brandi and Erik showed their outdoorsy sides with nods to their love of hunting (check out the grooms camouflage tie and socks and their whimsical cake topper.) Brandi’s mom and her beloved Irish Setter “Cannon” walked her down the aisle – what a trio of beauties! Enjoy the joyously personal celebration of Brandi and Erik’s wedding day!
Congratulations Brandi and Erik for your charming, country chic, unique celebration! We are so glad it was at Cedarwood! Thanks to Laurie Carpenter for sharing these lovely photographs!
We asked Brandi to share her favorite wedding memories, and she said, “I told Erik that we needed to get married again so we could do it all over. It was by far, the best day of my life. My favorite moment was walking to the amazing altar and watching Erik’s face knowing that marrying him was the best decision I had ever made. Also, the first look down by the pond. It truly felt like home to us as we are both such outdoorsy people. Closely following would be the tribute to my grandmother with Alzheimer’s by displaying her picture in the middle of the table.”
If you are wondering, like we were, the significance behind the ink on Brandi’s shoulder, she told us she had her tattoo done while on a vacation in Fiji. “I was in a small village and saw this tiny man tapping away on another’s back with a bamboo chute and a needle and decided that I had to give it a try, as I was already interested in tattoos. I told the man that I wanted a sun high on my shoulder to symbolize vitality, passion and courage. This is what I got and I still love it nine years later.”
We love your spirit Brandi!
