Like so many couples in the military, Mallory and Robert have made sacrifices, specifically one huge one – the timing of their wedding. When Robert’s deployment with the United States Air Force interfered with their wedding plans, they waited…for four years. The bond between Mallory and Robert is strong, and we are thrilled Mallory was able to have the wedding day she dreamed of. Mallory shares, “Rob and I met in the Fall of 2007 and slowly became good friends. One day he walked into my work and asked me out to lunch. From there, he asked me to dinner and we have been together ever since! He got orders to Greenland at the end of 2008. He proposed then and we agreed we would get married when he got back. From Greenland, he got orders to Germany and while in Germany he was sent on two deployments: one to Afghanistan and one to Africa. Our relationship is far from “normal” with all the distance and time between us, but it is us!”
What an amazing day November 17 turned out to be (we are serious fans of November weddings!) for a Cedarwood Outdoor Cathedral ceremony in the farm meadow! Photos around the property show the beauty of the day, as well as the tenderness and mad love Mallory and Robert have for each other. The black and white photo of Robert drying Mallory’s eyes at the altar is a masterpiece of emotion by Ace Photography (a close second is Mallory’s father-daughter dance!) Mallory chose rustic elements for her decor – using seasonal orange colors with Cedarwood’s collection of vintage purple glass and flowers in Mallory’s favorite hues of purple and lavender. Mallory and Robert served mini-pies instead of wedding cake, decorated with whimsical toppers and good humored signage urging guests to wait for their ‘pie cutting ceremony’ before taking one! Get ready to feel happy – we cannot stop smiling when viewing these photos of Mallory and Robert on their long awaited wedding day!
Mallory and Robert, we are honored you selected Cedarwood for this sacred day. May your love continue to sustain you. Thanks Ace Photography for sharing these lovely images.
