Photographs by Mary Rosenbaum
Jo Ellen and Chuck McDowell are full of life and their September 23 wedding at Cedarwood was full of personality and passion. Mary Rosenbaum exquisitely captured the emotion of each successive celebration, from their heart-touching first look at Mooncake Lake to the garden nuptials followed by cocktails in the barn and an enchanting evening of dinner and dancing. Amazing photographs! If you missed Part 1 of this feature, CLICK HERE to catch up.
Jo Ellen and Chuck’s styling – a sophisticated blending of nature in wood and twigs, bell jars and terrariums – was elegantly rustic with touches of whimsy. Guests were given ‘love facts’ crossword puzzles, wrote wishes on river rocks as keepsakes for Chuck and Jo Ellen and tossed others in the creek ‘wishing well‘ style. Chef-grilled Fillet Mignon, optional al fresco dining and warming fires for the September evening were as fresh and welcoming as a grand southern garden party. Layers of romantic lighting with torches, candles, string lights and hanging mason jar lanterns made each transition of the evening fun and magical, culminating with Chuck and Jo Ellen’s grand sendoff through a sea of sparklers. We absolutely love everything about this wedding and hope you enjoy Part 2.
