Love has a way of connecting people meant to be together. In the case of Tamara and Zach Derrick, Love took it’s time – initially keeping them apart despite the many commonalities of their lives. Surprisingly Zach and Tamara’s paths did not cross as they attended rival high schools and colleges in Georgia, had friends who dated, attended the same youth group events and weddings of mutual friends. Zach was even on the same swim team as Tamara’s sister one year. Ten years post graduation, Zach and Tamara (both living in Atlanta) connected through E-Harmony two years ago. Tamara says she would never have guessed that she would meet such an amazing man and perfect partner online. We are so glad they found each other!
We had the privilege of working with Tamara and Zach in planning their gorgeous July 28 Cedarwood destination wedding, full of heirlooms, family sentiments and personal details. Tamara and her mom, Valerie Thomson, and family friend Brenda Douglas (thanks Brenda and Cedarwood couple JD and Katie Douglas for recommending us!) created some cool DIY elements for the wedding. We love the “Where did you come from” Map! Tamara and Zach’s wedding is full of southern loveliness, starting with Mint Juleps and the bride’s Maggie Sottero “Victoriana” wedding gown in light gold with a dramatic cathedral length veil. Bridesmaids wore ‘Caspian’ color dresses by Alfred Sung, adding richness to soft flowers and chic southern touches. Enjoy their wedding images by the talented Amber and Josh Ulmer of Ulmer Studios!
Blessings to you Tamara and Zach, and may your union be a testament to the tenacity of love in pulling two perfectly matched people together. Thanks also to Ulmer Studios for sharing your work! We love these photos.
