When Atlanta area residents Edie and Peter first visited Cedarwood in March 2010, we were delighted that our venue was being considered alongside Amelia Island for their destination wedding. We were also delighted to see Edie’s eyes light up when she saw our collection of green Bordallo Pinheiro pottery and dishware. Edie later admitted that our collection tipped the scale in Cedarwood’s favor, and we had fun helping Edie create her southern classic wedding around our Bordallo Pinheiro and her beautiful silk plaid fabric (and Peter of course!)
As Edie and Peter added elements to their wedding design portfolio, we knew this would be a show-stopping southern classic May 14 wedding. Using Southern Architecture Magazine to show us examples of her decorating sensibilities, we thoroughly enjoyed translating the style to Edie’s Cedarwood wedding. The incredible monogrammed veil and silk cotton faille Priscilla of Boston vineyard ball gown were stunning on the bride, and the use of navy for the groom’s suit, bridesmaids’ dresses, cake napkins and invitations added a touch of alternate, classic color. Edie’s silk plaid was used sparingly, yet it was a repeated element that pulled everything together.
Shawn and Whitney Newby of Newby Media photographed their first Cedarwood wedding for Edie and Peter. We love what we see, and think you will too. Whitney authors the delightful lifestyle blog, ElmStreetLife.com, and you can click here to check out her feature on Edie and Peter’s wedding. Enjoy the classic southern styling of this wedding sprinkled with Edie and Peter’s personal touches.
Edie and Peter, we enjoyed your enthusiasm, your dedication to each other and our shared planning for your beautiful wedding. May your love grow by leaps and bounds. Thanks Newby Media for sharing your images. We hope to see you back at Cedarwood soon!
