Abby Baron is exuberant, always up for excitement, and describes herself as a sassy-glam kind of bride. Together with Michael Gorby, they are fun to be around and always the life of the party. One thing we loved about helping Abby plan her wedding was her selection of color. Abby chose colors that were not only bold and beautiful to her, but symbolized qualities she and Michael wanted to express at their wedding: orange for fun and energy, red for passion, and purple-plum for balance between calm and excitement. Abby and Michael found each other in the vast metropolis of Los Angeles, California, fell in love, and then became engaged on top of a mountain in Yosemite National Park. High profile love!
Residents of LA, most of Abby and Michael’s guests flew to Nashville from the west coast, or traveled from Ohio, Michael’s home state. Their goal was to showcase southern charm and Tennessee’s hospitality and verdant terrain – starting with the rolling hills of Cedarwood’s historic farm. Invitations showcased a tree motif, which was repeated in wedding decor including a ‘wishes tree’ in lieu of a traditional guest book. Hats off to Joe and Luann Baron, Abby’s parents and true southern ambassadors to wedding guests. Ace Photography told us they had blast shooting Abby and Michael’s April 29 wedding. Great photographers + fun, relaxed couple = picture perfect photos that are full of personality and wedding day beauty.
We loved Abby’s fashion choice of Two Birds Bridesmaid dresses — one dress that bridesmaids can wrap differently offering consistency to the bride but unique style to each bridesmaid. Abby’s vibrant spring bridal bouquet was a luscious blend of peonies, tulips, ranunculus, white dendrobium orchids and berries, adorned with a Paloma’s Nest bouquet text tile medallion. Michael’s best man carried wedding rings in a Paloma’s Nest ring bowl. The Tennessee Waltz processional song put everyone in tune with their southern surroundings. Cedarwood’s Outdoor Cathedral is always breathtaking and regal, but especially on a perfect spring day with Amazing Grace performed by Nashville Wedding Violinist, Rebecca Baumbach.
Abby and Michael’s Patty Cakes wedding cake was an elegant balance to whimsical and fun touches like the ‘donut grooms cake’ and a buffet of Moon Pies, RC Cola and Goo Goo Clusters treating guests to a little of Nashville’s famous sweet side. The bride and groom rubber ducks and Abby’s hand carved ‘fruit animals’ were conversation fodder in the Cedarwood barn.
Thanks to the talented Ace Photography team for sharing these images! Abby and Michael, may you always shine as bright as you did on this day.
