LA to Nashville :: Sarah+Kristopher

Photos by Michael Cogliantry

Sarah Shell and Kristopher Wallin crossed country from LA to Nashville on October 16 to treat guests to a laid back farm wedding at Cedarwood that was big on Music City style.  As a music industry insider, Sarah’s father Larry Shell made sure entertainment showcased Nashville’s famous sounds starting with live bluegrass in the Cedarwood barn for cocktails and moving into an exciting act for dinner and dancing.  Country music influences infused into Sarah and Kristopher’s wedding design were fun for guests and included: Hatch Show Print invitations, photos of famous country music icons as table numbers with coordinating escort cards; Loveless Motel preserves as favors; and a vintage record player with some priceless vinyl at the guest book table.

Sarah and Kristopher chose wedding flowers and decor to reflect their relaxed southern countryside style. Masses of ivory, cream and yellow garden roses graced Historic Cedarwood with a relaxed sophistication while the ceremony featured a more rustic farm vibe.  Set in Cedarwood’s rolling meadow, fabric draped hay bale seating was defined with antique crocks overflowing with ivory, cream and yellow garden roses and a rose entwined twig arch designed to look like it had been growing  for ages. Sweet Tea Martinis, Sofia champagne in the can, a Taste of the South menu by A Dream Come True Catering and a ‘home style’ Patty Cakes wedding cake against a barn backdrop completed the Tennessee farm charm of this West Coast to Country Chic wedding celebraton.

Sarah is a professional dancer with Latin pop singer, Chayanne, and tours South and Central America.  One of our favorite engagement session shots of Sarah and Kristopher was taken by their friend and photographer,  Michael Cogliantry,  featuring Sarah dancing in the sand.  Michael came to Nashville with Sarah and Kristopher to photograph their wedding.  Special thanks also to Cedarwood’s staff photographer, Aspen Hall, for providing supplemental images for this post.

Sarah and Kristopher, we wish you a lifetime of beautiful moments. Thanks for sharing your wedding day with us.

    Linda, our wedding couldn’t have been more beautiful! It was perfect, you took my ideas and embellished them beyond my imagination, we couldn’t have been more happy at how everything looked. The food was amazing too, and every little detail was spot on! Everyone was raving about how beautiful Cedarwood was, thank you so much for making the day perfect! We also couldn’t get over at how helpful Christa was!! What a blessing is was to have her there! 🙂 I definitely would have not eaten a thing if it weren’t for her fixing us a plate and having it there when we arrived at the reception

  2. That very first engagement photo of the couple is soo amazing. 🙂 This wedding is so sweet and I love the bride’s vintage-y wedding dress 😉

    I absolutely love the dress! It is beautiful! I am planning on having an outdoor wedding. I live on a farm, and I want to get married outside. I though about having square bales of hay for seating, but then I was concerned about what to lay over them. What material did you use?

      You can use quilts, vintage tablecloths or any fabric that is somewhat thick (like cotton duck). Good luck with your farm wedding!
