The fantasy wedding of Aspen and Brad Hall was a labor of love for us. Aspen is our niece and mother of our adorable great nieces Zoiey, Jocelyn and Lydia and great nephew Wesley. Aspen and Brad celebrated love’s highest commitment on Halloween, a day that added a double dose of delight to their enchanted wedding celebration. As the sun set, guests moved from the barn to the Cedarwood Pavilion for dinner, dancing and more magic for the kids.
What would a Halloween celebration be without pumpkins! Tables featured monogramed carved pumpkins embellished with gem and rhinestone designs. Each place setting included a pumpkin favor with a thank you note for guests, signed “Bugs and Hisses” Aspen and Brad. Framed “dire wedding warnings” with advice for the bride and groom added decor (and conversation) to the tables.
Aspen and her DIY helpers made masks and rattlers for guests to enjoy at the party and take home as favors. Simple plastic masks were purchased for the base, and custom designed in wedding colors with feathers, silk fall leaves, fabric, flowers, ribbons and beads. Each one was a mini work of art and guests had a great time showing them off during the reception.
The children’s table was covered with brown craft paper for art projects. Decorations included buckets of crayons and crafts for creative self entertainment during the evening. Each place setting included a flashlight for a Halloween Hunt after dinner. A list of location clues was given to each child to find hidden prizes. When the kids found all the items on the list, they got to load up at the candy bar! It was a good, good night for children at Cedarwood.
Crowning the array of reception sweets and treats was Aspen and Brad’s fantasy wedding cake – a team design effort involving Aspen, Cedarwood’s Karen, and Patty Russell of Patty Cakes. Aspen and Brad’s wedding cake carried out the theme of enchantment and we don’t think we’ve seen a more unusual and beautiful cake! Two pumpkins on top represented the bride and groom. Four pumpkins on the tiers represented each of their children.
Aspen and the girls collected and pressed beautiful fall leaves throughout the season for guests to toss at their grand send off. Staying in tune with their Halloween theme and sense of humor, a “Until Death Do Us Part” sign decorated their 1970 red Chevella muscle car getaway. Perfect day. Perfect Ending. Thanks to Ace Photography for capturing the fun and enchantment of Aspen and Brad’s amazing wedding.
