Titanman Forever : Dorothy+Brian

Photos by Brooke Kelly

I’m pumped to be finally writing about Dorothy Davis and Brian Fouche’s September 25 Cedarwood wedding. First, I’m crazy about these two people for several reasons including their kind, selfless and unassuming natures. Second, Brian has two awesome names: Fouche (French pronunciation) which just rolls off the tongue and sounds so debonair. And “Titanman” – YUP, he’s the ultimate, die hard Tennessee Titans fan who was not afraid to show it in all things wedding! After all, it was a Titans game that brought Brian to Nashville for a weekend, resulting is his first date with Dorothy. How could this connection not be honored?

Dorothy and Brian are both history majors and sports enthusiasts, two of the many reasons they are perfect for each other. Dorothy describes herself as low key, and she wanted an intimate wedding where everyone felt relaxed. She and Brian began planning their wedding the week after Dorothy’s beloved grandmother passed away, and Dorothy told us that more than anything, she wanted the wedding to be a fun and happy reunion for the family. We adore all the personal family tributes that Dorothy and Brian included in their wedding celebration, starting with the heirloom ‘bouquet bible’ attached with white satin ribbon to the beautiful pink, purple, and plum flowers Dorothy carried. Grandma Dot (who loved butterflies) was honored with custom baked butterfly cookie take-home favors by Patty Cakes, and, in her name, guests also received honorary donations made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Personal, lovely, touching. Brooke Kelly Photography documented the delightful details of this lovely simple garden wedding and we know you’ll enjoy them.

Dorothy’s Emerald ring is exqusite.  We love the story behind it too. Brian first proposed (unofficially) on Valentine’s Day, 2009 and began the quest for Dorothy’s Emerald engagement ring.  Three months later, they found the ring and officially announced their engagement to family on May 15.  Good going guys – to hold your big secret for three months!  Green jeweled ring and gorgeous green grounds at Cedarwood  were perfectly complimented by the wedding colors of cornflower blue and white with flowers in shades of pink, purple, blue and plum.  So beautiful!  And her custom Patty Cakes “flower garden” wedding cake: bloomin’ adorable!  Bet you can’t guess what Brian chose for his groom’s cake…think “T”!

Dorothy and Brian, our hearts are with you.

Thanks to Brooke Kelly Photography for sending over these images! And what a wild and crazy one Brooke is (just kidding….she’s lovely and gracious with a great sense of humor.) To prove it, we couldn’t resist sharing her family Christmas Card – shot in front of the Cedarwood vintage Airstream by Brooke’s pal Krista Lee Photography. A hilarious Ho Ho Ho to everyone!
