Photos by Cedarwood staffer, Aspen Cook
When Shantel Commander met with us to plan her July 29 Cedarwood wedding to Drew Perry, she had selected her bridesmaids’ dresses and told us that Cobalt blue was to be the primary color for her wedding. She also wanted the celebration to have a naturally relaxed, country chic vibe that fits so well with Cedarwood’s countryside setting. Normally Cobalt is a color that strikes a slightly modern tone, but our design team was up for the challenge!
We started by adding burlap runners to the tables and brought in country elements through galvanized pails filled with green apples, and french flower buckets with fresh natural arrangements including some field flowers like Queen Anne’s Lace. For the extra pop of Cobalt, we wrapped re-purposed wine bottles with burlap strips tied with twine. Long banquet style tables added a family feel that was cozy yet with dramatic design!
The ceremony altar decorated with white and blue flowers and antique blue mason jar candle lanterns tied with Cobalt ribbon pulled the look together with vintage flair. Cedarwood designers repeated the look throughout the celebration, from bar to buffet tables to candle vignettes all around the pavilion and house. I must confess that this is one of my favorite wedding designs, and Shantel, Drew and their family were a complete joy to work with.
Shantel and Drew’s photography team of Divine Images was amazing as well, and we can’t wait to see wedding photos when they are released! Look out for our full blog coverage on Shantel and Drew’s wedding with Divine Images real soon! Shantel stopped by Cedarwood yesterday, and when I showed her these in-house detail shots taken by Cedarwood’s Aspen Cook, she was thrilled. As with every bride, Shantel said in the excitement of the day, she didn’t remember all of the small details in the decor and was so happy to appreciate the beauty again in these photos.
And this final image…nature’s gift (and yes, it did occur on this wedding day!) Aspen got an amazing shot of the rainbow that graced Shantel and Drew’s wedding day. The photo is also a gift, because Shantel had not been able to see it herself. Photos are amazing things. Thanks Aspen for getting these great detail shots for us!
We are pumped to see official wedding photos by Divine Images. Coming to the Cedarwood blog soon!
