Jake and Brooke met at the University of Cincinnati where Jake played football, and Brooke played soccer. Brooke told us, “I can’t say that it was love at first sight, but it was pretty close. I knew within a few months that Jake was the man I wanted to spend my life with.” After three fast months into their relationship, Jake told Brooke he loved her and we adore his declaration, “Did I just hit the jackpot? Yes, yes I did.” Soon afterward, Jake and Brooke headed up to Jake’s hometown of Warsaw, Indiana to compete in its annual triathlon. Brooke shares the story: “The night before the race we met our parents for dinner at the Boat House Restaurant. Jake took me on his family’s pontoon boat and little did I know the trip was going to be much more exciting that I anticipated. On the way, we were just casually talking about our future together, and just as the sun was setting with a beautiful ring in hand, Jake asked me if I would spend my life with him. I was so surprised and in shock, that I couldn’t speak, and Jake even had to ask, “well, is that a yes?”
Of course it was “Yes” and after a move to Nashville for Jake to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL, July 4 became their “I do” with a Cedarwood wedding to suit their personalities – vibrant and easy-going, outdoors with summer wildflowers and tributes to our nation’s freedom.
