There are some couples who really touch our hearts, and Katie and Rob are one of those! Their September 24 southern wedding was classic yet understated, earthy and elegant – with natural beauty as the primary design focus. There’s few thing more southern than an infusion of magnolia and sweet tea, and the understated elegance of Cedarwood’s historic farm estate. We are happy to be sharing insights and images of this extraordinary couple’s Cedarwood wedding from Krystal Mann of Life Strings Photography.
When working with Katie to plan and style her wedding, she gave us a wonderful summary of what she and Rob wanted: fun, simple, minimalist, elegant but not extravagant, natural, timeless, warm, comfortable, classic, spiritual. And even more poetic: the contrasts of formal black and white wedding on a natural background with a barn backdrop, cummerbunds and cowboy boots, diamonds and dirt, bride and bourbon, old south meets new south. Nailed it, Katie!
Katie’s mom Mary Jane is precious, and we loved how Katie and Rob involved their families in touching ways – one of the most memorable being Katie’s presentation of her bridal bouquet to her grandmother during the cake cutting ceremony. Other standout moments include Katie and Rob rockin’ out with the Mike Pruitt Band during the reception and their romantic moonlight dance on Cedarwood’s front porch.
Thanks Katie and Rob, for the privilege of working with you to create such a gorgeous southern wedding. We are so glad you found us by reading the Cedarwood Blog! Also thanks Life Strings Photography for sharing images with us!
